Overview

NutriVerve is a UK-based vitamin and supplement superstore serving both direct-to-consumer and trade customers. With a vast catalogue spanning thousands of SKUs — from multivitamins and protein powders to specialist sports nutrition and organic remedies — NutriVerve had outgrown its legacy systems and needed a platform that could keep pace with rapid growth.

Veriland Consulting implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as NutriVerve's core ERP and deployed MaxPortal, Veriland's own e-commerce solution, to power their online storefront. The result is a fully integrated retail operation where inventory, pricing, promotions, fulfilment and customer data flow seamlessly between the back office and the web.

The Challenge

NutriVerve's rapid expansion had exposed serious operational gaps. The business was running a standalone accounting package, a third-party e-commerce platform with no ERP connection, and a warehouse managed largely through spreadsheets and manual pick lists.

  • Inventory inaccuracy: Stock levels on the website frequently fell out of sync with the warehouse, leading to overselling, backorders and customer complaints.
  • Manual order processing: Online orders had to be re-keyed into the accounting system, creating bottlenecks and errors during peak periods.
  • No real-time pricing or promotions: Updating sale prices or bundle deals across the website required manual changes, often taking hours and resulting in inconsistencies.
  • Disconnected customer data: Purchase history, loyalty points and support tickets lived in separate systems with no unified customer view.
  • Warehouse inefficiency: Without barcode scanning or intelligent pick routing, fulfilment was slow and error-prone, limiting the volume of orders the team could process per day.
  • Limited reporting: Management had no single dashboard for sales performance, stock turn, margin analysis or customer lifetime value.

Our Solution

Veriland delivered a fully integrated solution centred on Dynamics 365 Business Central and MaxPortal, Veriland's purpose-built e-commerce platform designed to connect directly into Business Central.

Dynamics 365 Business Central

Business Central was configured as NutriVerve's single source of truth for finance, purchasing, inventory, warehousing and sales. Product data — including descriptions, nutritional information, batch tracking, expiry dates and allergen flags — is managed centrally and flows outward to every channel.

MaxPortal E-Commerce Platform

Veriland deployed MaxPortal to replace NutriVerve's disconnected third-party webshop. MaxPortal is built specifically to integrate with Business Central, meaning product listings, pricing, stock availability, promotions and customer accounts are synchronised in real time. When a customer places an order on the website, it appears instantly in Business Central as a sales order — no re-keying, no delays.

Warehouse Management

Business Central's warehouse management capabilities were configured with bin locations, barcode scanning and optimised pick routes. Batch and expiry tracking ensures NutriVerve ships the oldest stock first (FEFO), critical for supplement products with shelf-life considerations.

Promotions and Pricing Engine

Veriland configured a flexible pricing engine within Business Central that supports volume discounts, bundle deals, loyalty pricing and time-limited promotions. All pricing rules are defined once in Business Central and automatically reflected on the MaxPortal storefront, eliminating manual updates and ensuring consistency.

Customer Portal

MaxPortal provides NutriVerve's customers with a self-service portal where they can view order history, track deliveries, manage subscriptions for recurring supplement orders, and access loyalty rewards — all powered by real-time data from Business Central.
